April 2009 ArchivesIt sounds like Washington and Washington State are working on a deal that would move the Apple Cup to Qwest Field in Seattle. Nothing is finalized yet, but according to reports, officials from both universities confirmed that talks are underway. I think this is a terrible idea! When I first heard about it, I didn't just get irritated by the idea...I got upset! Placing the Apple Cup in Seattle every year is the dumbest idea I've ever he... Washington State wide receiver Michael Willis was arrested early Saturday morning for driving under the influence. He's been suspended indefinitely. Willis was pulled over in the Kamiak Apartment's parking lot for having studded tires on his vehicle at 2:51 a.m., WSU Police Lt. Steve Hansen told The Daily Evergreen. It sounds like the 22-year-old's blood alcohol level was one and a half times the legal limit. The Cougars said they wanted to find a new head coach in seven days...and they've done just that. I've been able to confirm that Portland State's Ken Bone will be the next head basketball coach at Washington State University. UPDATE 4:26pm: Washington State University just sent out a press release officially announcing Bone as the new head coach. All signs started to point to Bone after Utah St... This article is being updated throughout the day. There are some major changes in the search. Keep reading for all the latest. Today could be the day we find out who Washington State's next head basketball coach is. Athletic Director Jim Sterk and President Elson Floyd said they wanted to find a coach within seven days of Bennett's departure. Today makes seven days. NOTE: Sterk later said in his Athletic Direc... As expected, Washington State is close to making a decision on its new head basketball coach. Athletic Director Jim Sterk and President Elson Floyd said they wanted to find someone within seven days and their time is just about up. The Birmingham News reports University of Alabama-Birmingham head coach Mike Davis did "meet with WSU officials to discuss the Cougars' head coaching vacancy." He flew into Detroit (where the Final ... The Final Four is in full swing. That means WSU's coaching search is in full swing as well. Like I mentioned before, the Final Four is pretty much a big career fair with head coaches and their assistants from all over the country on hand. Washington State is reportedly interviewing University of Alabama-Birmingham head coach Mike Davis in Detroit today. There were also reports that the Cougs would interview Portland State's Ken Bone th... I'm still trying to confirm that Washington State and Portland State's Ken Bone are "working out the details" of a deal. I was told by a source that the two sides might be closer to a deal than many people think. Because of the timing (I found out about 9:30 last night) it's been hard for me to firm this up, but I'll be working on it today. I'll update this blog as soon as I know anything. We heard yesterday who former Cougar head coac... UPDATE 9:30pm I love this coaching carousel stuff...rumors are swirling every second of every day. I have to warn you that this is nothing but a rumor until I can confirm it. It sounds like Ken Bone might be closer to inking a deal with Washington State than some might think. According to a source, Bone and WSU are "working out the details." I'll let you know as soon as I can firm this up. There's not a whole ... It sounds like former NBA All-Star Terry Porter might be a candidate for the Washington State head coaching job. I spent the entire morning trying to figure out if this was an April Fool's joke or if it was legit. The rumors started on a WSU message board. The fan who posted the message said he saw Porter on campus today. I never received confirmation (despite several texts and calls), but Cougfan.com said that they confirmed that Port... |
