I don't know about you, but I'm always scouring the internet. I'm looking for scores, cool stories, and reading other blogs. Sometimes I find useless information...other times I find something I really like. I think you'll like this too. I was checking out Bob Condotta's UW Football Blog on The Seattle Times website (keep your friends close, and your enemies closer) today. He was talking about ESPN.com's "Face of the Program"...an idea "The World Wide Leader" started on May 1st. They're asking fans of every college football program to name a "Face of the Program"...the person, game or thing that best exemplifies your team. I logged on to Washington State's page and found that everyone has their ideas, but there is no consensus pick (no surprise). People have mentioned anyone from Will Derting...to Ryan Leaf...to Butch. My pick is easy. The "Snow Bowl" stands out more than any other moment in Cougar history (it doesn't matter what sport). That's the day fell in love with Wazzu (I was a Husky fan leading up to that). I still get excited every time I see Phillip Bobo slide into that snow bank (if I had to specify my choice...that touchdown is the "Face of the Program"). The "Snow Bowl" win (it was actually domination) clinched a berth in the Copper Bowl.
Just like ESPN.com, I want to know what you think. It's as simple as leaving a comment below. Again, it can be a person (player/coach/athletic director/announcer), game, thing, etc. |
