It's a beautiful day in Denver (highs expected near 60), but it doesn't matter we'll be inside watching basketball all day long. In the first game here Michigan State is pounding Temple with a little bit of time left in the second half. As for the Cougars, they get started against Winthrop at 4:20pm (PT). That game can only be seen on KREM 2.

I don't have a whole lot of time, but I'll give you the latest. We're heading to a Cougar get together at a bar/restaurant near the Pepsi Center (we'll have a quick report from there around 4pm, before WSU gets started). We'll then head back to the arena for the game. We'll be there every step of the way and have live reports for you tonight.

I know that I've mentioned that Winthrop has been to the tournament four straight years and eight out of the last ten seasons, but I finally realized their overall tourney record (don't know what took me so long). The Eagles are only 1-7 all-time in the NCAA's (their only win was against Notre Dame last year in Spokane...Winthrop pulled off the No.6/No.11 upset).

P.S. Denver really is a nice city. We were pretty confined to the Pepsi Center yesterday, but had a chance to get to the local CBS affiliate for live reports this morning. If you didn't have a chance to see them (some of you were probably sleeping), we were on the roof of the building with a great view of downtown and the Rocky Mountains on the horizon.

It's a pretty quiet city, but there are some happening spots. It's also a clean city. As one guy at KCNC (the local CBS) said, "It really has a small town feel." You know what I like? No traffic!
