Doba's Replacement? Update 9

12:10 PM Thu, Dec 06, 2007 |

I'm sorry I didn't get to this yesterday. There was a big basketball game (maybe you heard about it...Washington State played Gonzaga in The Kennel) that took up all of my time. I got to this as quick as I could today (would have been quicker if it wasn't for a bad internet connection...I love technology).

Here's the latest information:

According to The Seattle Times, Eastern's Paul Wulff has not been contacted by the Cougars yet.

Mike Price (UTEP Head Coach) reaffirmed with reporters Wednesday that he's interested in the Washington State job. He called WSU "my school" in an article by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. He also said that he's in talks with UTEP about an upgraded contract.

The University of Houston is picking up the speed on its search for a head coach. They are interviewing Kevin Sumlin (Oklahoma Offensive Coordinator) today. UH is also reportedly interested in Dave Christensen (Missouri Offenxive Coordinator).

Bob Gregory (California Offensive Coordinator) has been contacted by Wazzu, but he hasn't been interviewed.

According to the web site MLive.com, Ball State's Brady Hoke has had "some contact" with Washington State. The artcle also describes Hoke and Bill Doba (a Ball State graduate) as good friends. Doba is on the hiring committee.

Michigan athletic director Bill Martin has also talked to Hoke about the Wolverines head coaching job. He has not formally interviewed for the position.

Stay tuned...
