A Pac-10 coach was let go today, which could play a role in WSU's search. Otherwise, it was a calm day on the coaching scene. Here's what I've find out: Several sources tell me they think UTEP's Mike Price is the front runner. One of those contacts also tells me they believe Ray Sherman (Dallas Cowboys Receivers Coach) and Kevin Sumlin (Oklahoma Offensive Coordinator). UCLA fired head coach Karl Dorrell. Bruins offensive coordinator DeWayne Walker, mentioned for the Wazzu job, is considered a replacement. Ball State's Brady Hoke was contacted by Michigan about their head coaching job, but he tells the The Star Press he hasn't formally been contacted by the Cougars. Bill Doba played at and graduated from Ball State (he's also on WSU's hiring committee). That's it for now...stay tuned for another update. |
