It's becoming more clear who the Cougars are actually interested in. A pair of candidates have interviewed and more are being contacted. Here's what I've found out: As we reported, Eastern's Paul Wulff was finally contacted about the WSU job. According to several sources, Kevin Sumlin (Oklahoma Offensive Coordinator) and John L. Smith (St. Louis Rams Scout/Former Michigan State Head Coach) have interviewed for the job. Ray Sherman (Dallas Cowboys Receivers Coach) and the Cowboys don't expect coaching rumors to go away anytime soon. In an article in The Dallas Morning News, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo is quoted as saying: "That's going to happen to any of our coaches right now. We go to whatever record this year, and hopefully go to the Super Bowl and win it, everybody here's going to have a chance to go somewhere." According to KVIA-TV in El Paso, UTEP athletic director Bob Stull said that the university "will do their best to keep [Mike Price] around." Stull also said that Washington State has not asked him for permission to talk to Price, but confirmed there have been conversations between the coach and WSU. |
