J.T. Likely To Play

9:02 AM Fri, Oct 24, 2008 |

It sounds like the Cougars are getting J.T. Levenseller ready to play against Stanford. That goes against everything they've wanted to do all season, because they were hoping to save the Pullman High graduate's redshirt.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Vince Grippi of The Spokesman-Review was the first to report on this. But, just so you know, I didn't read his article (just saw the headline online). I wanted to fin...

Men's Basketball Practice

1:05 PM Wed, Oct 22, 2008 |

I apologize for not getting to this on Monday like I said I would. I was a little under the weather, but I'm feeling better now.

I went to men's basketball practice before the USC game on Saturday (they opened practice on Friday). It was weird walking in and not seeing Kyle Weaver and Derrick Low (I would say Robbie Cowgill too, but he was actually there). It's a whole different team, but I like what I saw.

The Cougars have sev...

Wazzu Smashed By USC, 69-0

7:58 AM Sun, Oct 19, 2008 |

I'm not really sure what to say after a drubbing like this...

I made it to my first game of the season and it wasn't much of a game at all. Washington State never stood a chance Saturday against 6th ranked USC falling 69-0 in the end. It's the second time this year the Cougars have set the "worst loss in team history" mark (the first was the 66-3 pounding against California). It's also the first time since 1984 (280 straight games) tha...

Wednesday Practice Report

11:07 PM Wed, Oct 15, 2008 |

It looks and sounds like Kevin Lopina is going to start at quarterback for Washington State on Saturday (as long as there aren't any setbacks).

I talked to Lopina today and he said his back feels "really good." He didn't have any problems practicing yesterday and he didn't look limited at all today (he was going through all the drills). He said it's nice to be back on the field and he told me "it's like riding a bike"...things are easi...

Quarterback Update And More

5:31 PM Tue, Oct 14, 2008 |

There's good news to report...

Kevin Lopina practiced today. I texted Joe Nickle of the WSU Sports Information Department and asked if Lopina was limited at all. He responded back, "No contact and they're not in full pads, but he's doing all the drills."

There are a couple more injury notes...

The Seattle Times reported that running back Christopher Ivory (hamstring) and tight end Devin Frischknecht (high ankle...

Lobbestael Out For Season

2:19 PM Mon, Oct 13, 2008 |

Marshall Lobbestael's injury is much worse than originally thought.

The early diagnosis was a sprained knee (and that he would miss two-to-four weeks), but further tests revealed much worse. Lobbestael actually tore his ACL and MCL on Saturday against Oregon State. He is done for the season. His recovery is expected to take about nine months, according to Washington State University.

Needless to say, that's terrible news for a ...

Marshall Lobbestael Update

8:59 PM Sat, Oct 11, 2008 |

I have to make this quick...

This is the early word on quarterback Marshall Lobbestael:

He has a sprained knee...it sounds like he's expected to miss two-to-four weeks.

That means Washington State will probably have some decisions to make when it comes to the quarterback position.

Dan Wagner played in place of Lobbestael tonight because Wazzu didn't want to burn J.T. Levenseller's redshirt.

Keep in mind,...
