Spokane split two games with the Kootenay Ice last weekend as they now sit at 5-3-1 in the U.S. Division of the Western Hockey League and in 4th place, a point behind Everett. After losing two in a row, the Chiefs rebounded nicely with two straight wins last weekend over Prince Albert and Seattle. Spokane remains in third place in the U.S. Division behind Tri-City and Portland. Friday night's game with Prince Albert saw the Chiefs power play get the team off to an early lead, as two power play goals gave Spokane a 2-1 lead after one. After looking soooo good against Tri-City in the home opener the previous weekend, the Chiefs fell to Earth with a thud last weekend, dropping a pair of division games with Portland and Tri-City. The weekend didn't get off to a good start on Friday at the Spokane Arena as Portland outworked the Chiefs in a 5-3 win.
