Mother's Day is this Sunday and right now it looks like we may see the warmest weather of the week over the weekend. I'm calling for mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers and highs in the low to mid 60s. Conditions may right for a bbq in mom's honor. In the Sherry household the boys and I get together and make huckleberry pancakes and serve them to them to the honored guest in bed. Then weather permitting we typically bbq a meal later that afternoon. Obviously the whole idea is for my wife to take the day off and feel special as her boys wait on her. It also is fun for me because I get to do stuff with my sons.
As the boys have gotten older the door has been opened for other fun stuff too. My youngest son who is in high school gets to take his mom to a special Mother/Son dance at his high school. She did it four years with my older son and it is the highlight of the weekend. This years dance should be great too. All the moms love it, dancing with their sons. It's really a cool event, I wish more high schools did it. (Btw there is a Father/Daughter dance too earlier in the year).
And for adult children the spring wine tastings going on at area wineries is a special way to celebrate moms special day. I'm hoping the weather cooperates for all the moms who deserve the best day ever. Thanks for all you do.

What's with this wind from th NE forever??? You never talk about wind but for us folks who live on the west plains it's very important EVERY DAY.
