It may never have to shell out every cent of it, but the U-S has now pledged a staggering $7-trillion dollars to stop the financial meltdown. That's equivalent to $24,000 for every man, woman and child in America.

Due to the generosity in our community, everyone in Spokane should be able to have a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
Last Friday and Saturday KREM TV conducted its 9th annual Tom's Turkey Drive. It was an incredible success with more than over 9,200 complete turkey dinners donated and $88,000 raised for the Second Harvest Food Bank.

Under normal circumstances there's a need for the traditional holiday meal for those who can't afford it. The local community has always responded to that need, but circumstances have changed.
Wage freezes, cutbacks in spending and a tragic economy spawning layoffs is pushing the need even higher and donations ever lower. It's a double whammy! Just at the time when the need is the most many can't afford to help.
