Cold & Dry

7:41 AM Tue, Nov 20, 2007 |

Afternoon sun

I'm feeling down because the snow I forecast for the overnight hours stayed to the south of Spokane....just trying to get those ski areas open ya know....that isn't going to happen around here as high pressure is going to last thru at least Saturday with dry conditions.
The question is how much low cloud cover and fog will form up ...and how persistent will it be?
I dont have the answer......it's fog season.....and a temperature inversion is setting up...which typically produces widespread low clouds in the wake of wet weather in late Fall. However....there is no snow on the ground to help cool the surface air to the dewpoint....and the charts indicate the flow out of B.C is dry enough to limit fog. Only time will tell.
