That's Football?

1:02 PM Mon, Sep 17, 2007 |

When asked about the fumble at the end of the game, Alexander said, “That’s Football”. I don’t know about any of you Seahawks Fans, but that is very disappointing coming from one of our marquee players. When asked if he was concerned about two slow starts for the Seahawks over the past two weeks, Alexander replied, “No, we eventually get it going”. Then with the giggles and the jokes during his press conference, I had to shut the radio off. I cannot believe the arrogance and the nerve of someone who just made the mental mistake he did that cost his team the chance to go for the win, to sit there and giggle in his press conference. UNBELIEVABLE.

From what I have seen the past two weeks, Alexander has no business being a starter. In fact, I think this could be the biggest business mishandling by the Seahawks since the Bosworth deal. You can’t blame the Seahawks; we were all taken by Mr. Alexander and his promise of better things to come. Basically he is a normal running back that for a couple of years had a great offensive line. Now he got his money, and he can just sit back and play as hard as he wants. (Which isn’t very hard outside of the red zone) What number 37 doesn’t realize is that the rest of his team and his fans want a Superbowl championship. His comments yesterday were completely backwards of what any of his team and coaches were saying.

As for the Seahawks defense yesterday, they made the wrong calls. They blew coverage, and didn’t look as sharp as they could have. I think they are a good defense that needs to look at the film, figure some things out, and hit it again this Sunday.

As for the offense. The best thing that can happen is that Morris can return so the multi-millionaire can rest his wrist. Maybe if Alexander sees someone playing with a bit of fire and passion, he will turn back in to the running back he used to be. Or maybe he will just continue to count his money and lay down before he gets hit. The passing game is excellent; we have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and a receiving core that wants nothing more than to dominate.
