Nearly Ideal weather today before it gets hot again Highs will warm to 90 tomorrow and then rise into the mid 90's on Wednesday. Thunderstorms should arirve Thursday night. This heat wave...while short lived....is going to further stress out plants and spur fire danger. If you have backyard fruit trees...this is the time to pour on the water. Final fruit size is largely determined about a month before harvest....so this is a time of enhaced cell divison and those trees need water to produce the big peaches and nectarines. Some gardeners turn off the water now on tomoto plants to spur the ripening process...but I'm going to hold off there....lets keep em growing. |
