There's alot of hype and playing loosey goosey with the facts with this current heat wave. Yesterday's high in Spokane was 96...so why do I hear some newscasters saying...we are going to have more triple digit heat. The temperature needs to hit 100 .....before we can have more triple digit heat...I'd say the devil is in the details.
Lets help them out and shoot for 100 today.....102 tomorrow....which would tie the record for the date in Spokane....some forecasters have temps around 105 locally.....those folks are on a high wire as far as I can see. Time will tell.
Now there's a National Weather Service fire weather watch posted starting Friday...for mainly dry lighting. As I look at the charts...this activity seems to be focused in the Cascades ...their foothills....and the Okanogan region. I will be surprised if we see much of anything locally.....stay tuned to see if I'm going to eat crow on this one!i
