Building clouds late today may generate a few showers or isolated Thunderstorms in the Spokane area. A near normal high of 67 is forecast. Alot can happen weatherwise with these long daylight hours of late May and that is what I'm hanging my hat on today. It's so nice this morning...there seems no sign of any unsettled weather this afternoon...yet a tightly wound are of low pressue is going to move out of the Canadian Rockies today and end up along the Idaho-Montana border by this evening. This feature is small in coverage...but it has alot of dynamic lift....if the system strays a bit from its projected course....we'll see showers in Spokane....otherwise...most of the action looks to be in North Idaho and points west. The holiday weekend is looking more favorable for sun lovers as we draw closer to it. Look for mostly sunny skies Friday with a warming trend taking temperatures into the lower 70's. Saturday will start sunny with increasing late day clouds with the chance of a Thunderstorm overnight. Monday features partly cloudy skies....with a high near 70. I like the looks of camping south rather than north of Spokane this weekend in terms of seeing more sun and staying dry......have you ever been up the Tuccanon River?....there's lots of camping ....though the area has suffered from Wildfires over the past 2 years.. |
