A Pacific system rolls thru the region today into Tuesday morning with widespread rain possibly mixing with snow locally overnight...followed by strong SW winds tomorrow afternoon. This feature will be the strongest surge of energy we see this week...though the pattern looks to be unsettled into the weekend. So much for that near record high of 56 on Saturday. This latest round of wet weather will be mainly rain for Spokane...but I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see a slushy accumulating snow around daybreak Tuesday. The mountain snowpack will be a big winner...up to 2 feet of new snow should accumulate by late Tuesday...though blowing and drifting snow will make for hazardous travel at Lookout and Snoqualmie passes with Winter Storm Warnings into Tuesday. Gusts may peak around 45 MPH late tomorrow in the Spokane area. |
