Stratus Que

6:24 AM Wed, Jan 31, 2007 |

Its a play on words that describes today's weather as the low cloud deck (stratus) looks to stay put again today. (status que).

Hot Shooting Takes Down Toreros

12:18 PM Tue, Jan 30, 2007 |

Gonzaga shot a blistering 67% from the floor, including 72% from 3, on their way to 91-82 win and sole ownership of first place in the WCC at the half way mark. Despite the Zags hot shooting San Diego managed to stick close most of the night by rebounding the ball extremely well and not turning the ball over.

Pattern of problems?

11:38 AM Tue, Jan 30, 2007 |

For the past two weeks, KREM 2 News has investigated complaints of poor living conditions at apartment complexes owned by Zanco Properties, based in Liberty Lake. For the most part, response from viewers has been overwhelmingly positive. However, I have heard from a few of you who think we're unfairly targeting Zanco.

Gonzaga Shuts Down The Dons

7:22 PM Sat, Jan 27, 2007 |

A solid defensive effort, especially against San Francisco’s backcourt star Armando Surrant who was held scoreless, led the Zags to another home win. The visiting Dons possess some of the best natural talent and athleticism in the league, both inside and outside, but the Zags neutralized San Francisco’s attack by dominating the glass, limiting transitions baskets and for the most part not giving the Dons easy looks.

Morning fog in metro areas

8:35 AM Fri, Jan 26, 2007 |

A dense fog advisory is in effect until noon today. A strange thing we're seeing here is an isolated snow flurry at the bottom of the Thor/Freya hill.

Holmgren Can See In To The Future

2:12 PM Wed, Jan 24, 2007 |

When the Seahawks released Koren Robinson in 2004, I joined many fans in thinking Holmgren was nuts. But after the self destructive behavior that Holmgren saw back then, he decided he didn't want that type of distraction on his football team. Kudos to Holmgren. As the headlines today revealed that Robinson plead guilty to a felony charge of evading police, I guess Holmgren was right on when he cut Robinson. With problems and distractions w...

Balanced Effort Leads to Road Win

10:53 AM Tue, Jan 23, 2007 |

Once again Gonzaga traveled into an opponent’s sold out arena and took the home team’s best effort of the season on Monday night on the way to a 80-68 Bulldog victory. Portland played one of their best games of the year, in front of a crowd nearly four times larger than they usually draw, but the Zags got a balanced offensive attack led by their seniors and were able to win fairly comfortably, moving the Zags into a first place tie in the WCC...

Our Secondary Needs Mora Help Than This

2:14 PM Mon, Jan 22, 2007 |

I'm happy to see Seattle bring on Jim Mora as Assistant Head Coach and Secondary Coach. The Seahawks Secondary really was tore up this year, and I'm not talking about injuries. But we need more than a coach, we need some depth. Hopefully the Seahawks can beef up the depth chart and move the secondary in to the right direction. I like Mora's intensity and personality. He will be a great addition to the sidelines.

Get Well Seahawks

9:01 PM Thu, Jan 18, 2007 |

As the Seahawks begin to heal themselves from an injury plagued season, fans begin to heal ourselves and look towards next year. But before we can do that, we are learning several things about what happened this season. One thing I learned is that Hasselbeck is one tough cookie.

Gaels End Bulldog’s WCC Streak

10:37 AM Tue, Jan 16, 2007 |

Led by Diamon Simpson and Omar Samhan inside the St. Mary’s Gaels used a huge second half to pull away from the Zags and hand Gonzaga their 7th loss of the year and first in WCC play since 2005. In a game very similar to the last Bulldog’s loss at St. Mary’s in January 2005, the Gaels were led by two career nights with Samhan and Simpson combining for 49 points and 16 rebounds and the loss puts Gonzaga in the middle of a very tight league bat...

It Was A Tough Year To Be A Seahawk

11:10 AM Mon, Jan 15, 2007 |

It seemed fitting that our crazy twisting and turning season would end with a curve ball field goal to send us in to the long off-season. It also seemed fitting that we ended in overtime in Chicago with the flashes of brilliance we would see so few times this season. It was also fitting that we forced Grossman to beat us, and he did. It has truly been a tough year to be a Seahawk. Players, Coaches, and Fans all had to endure the rocky roa...

Raivio Leads Zags to First Road Win

11:09 PM Sat, Jan 13, 2007 |

Gonzaga picked up a huge road win, its first of the year, in a hostile environment at Santa Clara Saturday, giving Coach Few his 200th career victory and putting the Zags in the driver’s seat early in the WCC season. After a very close first half, in which Santa Clara led the Zags for long stretches, Gonzaga used their zone defense to slow the Broncos offense and build a double-digit lead before fending off a late Santa Clara run.

The NFL Can Be A Dirty Business

3:09 PM Fri, Jan 12, 2007 |

The opinions of this blog do not reflect the opinions of KREM.com or KREM.com management.

Right in the middle of a playoff run and a chance to prove that they are a great team despite injuries and shortcomings, Seahawks management has done nothing more than prove that they are a greedy business and don’t care about who they step on. Tim Ruskell, you remember him, he is the one the let Steve Hutchinson go. The Seahawks have dec...

Gonzaga Slows the Dine

12:02 AM Tue, Jan 09, 2007 |

The Zags were able to slow down a prolific Pepperdine offense that came into the game averaging over 80 points per game on their way to an opening weekend sweep of the Los Angeles WCC teams. Monday’s game was much lower scoring and defensive oriented than most believed it would be when the WCC’s two highest octane offenses met, but the style fit Gonzaga just fine as they got back to rebounding well and contesting nearly every outside shot the...

THAT WAS AWESOME

8:08 PM Sun, Jan 07, 2007 |

Well we get another week. The Seahawks are going to the windy city to take on Da Bears. Well we will get to the Bears a little later. What a game that was. WOW. It could have gone either way. But somehow they figured out a way to fight through the injuries and a pretty good Cowboys defense to pull one out. Ok a little luck may have played in to it, but hey let’s enjoy it. Our team was solid on defense and looked better on offense than ...

Seniors Get Bulldogs Back On Track

4:50 PM Sat, Jan 06, 2007 |

Coming off four consecutive losses and a blowout loss Gonzaga badly needed someone to step up and lead them to a win in their first league game, and both of the Bulldog’s seniors answered this challenge in a huge way. Sean Mallon continued his very strong play with the best game of his career, scoring 23 points and collecting 9 rebounds, while Raivio responded on both ends of the floor with 22 points and 6 steals.

Do A Rain Dance

6:26 PM Fri, Jan 05, 2007 |

The Seahawks are injured fans. We need all the help we can get. Romo can't hold on to the ball, especially in the rain. Fans do a Rain Dance tonight. The wetter the better. Go Hawks.

Virginia Dismantles Zags

9:33 PM Wed, Jan 03, 2007 |

Virginia got off to a torrid start while Gonzaga struggled early, leading to one of the worst losses in Bulldog history and sending the Zags to their fourth consecutive loss for the first time in nearly ten years. In their final tuneup before league play Gonzaga was unable to do anything right in the opening minutes and Virginia took full advantage by playing a nearly flawless first half, burying the Zags well before the first half was over i...
