(status que). ...Gonzaga shot a blistering 67% from the floor, including 72% from 3, on their way to 91-82 win and sole ownership of first place in the WCC at the half way mark. Despite the Zags hot shooting San Diego managed to stick close most of the night by rebounding the ball extremely well and not turning the ball over. ...For the past two weeks, KREM 2 News has investigated complaints of poor living conditions at apartment complexes owned by Zanco Properties, based in Liberty Lake. For the most part, response from viewers has been overwhelmingly positive. Once again Gonzaga traveled into an opponent’s sold out arena and took the home team’s best effort of the season on Monday night on the way to a 80-68 Bulldog victory. Portland played one of their best games of the year, in front of a crowd nearly four times larger than they usually draw, but the Zags got a balanced offensive attack led by their seniors and were able to win fairly comfortably, moving the Zags into a first place tie in the WCC... I'm happy to see Seattle bring on Jim Mora as Assistant Head Coach and Secondary Coach. The Seahawks Secondary really was tore up this year, and I'm not talking about injuries. But we need more than a coach, we need some depth. Hopefully the Seahawks can beef up the depth chart and move the secondary in to the right direction. I like Mora's intensity and personality. He will be a great addition to the sidelines. ...As the Seahawks begin to heal themselves from an injury plagued season, fans begin to heal ourselves and look towards next year. In a game very similar to the last Bulldog’s loss at St. Mary’s in January 2005, the Gaels were led by two career nights with Samhan and Simpson combining for 49 points and 16 rebounds and the loss puts Gonzaga in the middle of a very tight league bat... It seemed fitting that our crazy twisting and turning season would end with a curve ball field goal to send us in to the long off-season. It also seemed fitting that we ended in overtime in Chicago with the flashes of brilliance we would see so few times this season. It was also fitting that we forced Grossman to beat us, and he did. The Zags were able to slow down a prolific Pepperdine offense that came into the game averaging over 80 points per game on their way to an opening weekend sweep of the Los Angeles WCC teams. Monday’s game was much lower scoring and defensive oriented than most believed it would be when the WCC’s two highest octane offenses met, but the style fit Gonzaga just fine as they got back to rebounding well and contesting nearly every outside shot the... Well we get another week. The Seahawks are going to the windy city to take on Da Bears. Well we will get to the Bears a little later. What a game that was. WOW. It could have gone either way. But somehow they figured out a way to fight through the injuries and a pretty good Cowboys defense to pull one out. Ok a little luck may have played in to it, but hey let’s enjoy it. Our team was solid on defense and looked better on offense than ... Coming off four consecutive losses and a blowout loss Gonzaga badly needed someone to step up and lead them to a win in their first league game, and both of the Bulldog’s seniors answered this challenge in a huge way. Sean Mallon continued his very strong play with the best game of his career, scoring 23 points and collecting 9 rebounds, while Raivio responded on both ends of the floor with 22 points and 6 steals. ...The Seahawks are injured fans. We need all the help we can get. Romo can't hold on to the ball, especially in the rain. Fans do a Rain Dance tonight. The wetter the better. Go Hawks. ...Virginia got off to a torrid start while Gonzaga struggled early, leading to one of the worst losses in Bulldog history and sending the Zags to their fourth consecutive loss for the first time in nearly ten years.
