Tonight is the night. Eight months after the NCAA Tournament loss to UCLA, the Bulldogs are back on the court with a new feel. Almost 50 points a game have moved on to the professional ranks, and now the coaching staff is looking to see who will lead the team this season. The Zags will get a good test right away against Eastern Washington. Rodney Stuckey will provide a huge challenge for GU. Larry Gurgainious is out with a back injury. He was going to get the assignment to guard Stuckey, so that is a problem right away. Eastern isn't a one man team though. The Eagles return 5 other players with starting experience. The Eagles feel this could be their year to get the Zags after several close calls over the last few years. The Zags will need to step forward and start finding their identity early or it could be a long night. |
