Zags:Getting past the first weekend of tournament play

7:43 AM Mon, Mar 20, 2006 |

Intersting to see how far the Bulldogs have come.. in the local newspaper this morning.. there is a story about Gonzaga being the favored team over historic power Indiana.. and the pressure being on Gonzaga to win to make it to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 5 years.

Sixth seeded Indiana is playing as the underdog.. and playing with a relaxed.. no pressure attitude. Hoosiers coach Mike Davis will resign as soon as the Hoosiers lose.. and since he announced he was stepping down under pressure from demanding Indiana fans.. he says the pressure is off his players now.. and they have played that way ever since.
Indiana had to rally from a double figure deficit.. and posted an 87-83 win over San Diego State on Thursday. Davis also said he wants his team to play an up tempo game today.. get out and run against the Bulldogs..
The matchup of the day that should be fun to watch.. is in the paint. The Bulldogs don't often see a guy who is as big and strong as JP Batista.. but they will today, Marco Killingsworth is 6'8".. 268 pounds.. a left handed load down olw who is scoring almost 18 a game. Lets hope the officials let the two big guys get after it and not call any cheap fouls.
One last thing,,Mike Davis actually sais yesterday his team can't stop Adam Morrison.. so there is no reason to try. They'll just worry about themselves. We'll see how that works.. or if he was just having some fun. If they are going to treat adam like any other player.. it could be another big night for Morrison.
