It snowed Monday morning. 1" officially was measured in Spokane but the snow fell during the morning commute and that caused problems. I know more snow fell than was expected. Morning and weekend meteorologists were forecasting flurries and scattered snow showers with little to light accumulation. But the small area of snow decided to linger over the spokane area for much of the morning. This caused our 1" accumulation. Not a lot of snow for sure but just enough to make for dangerous conditions for drivers going too fast. And really that was the problem. Driving too fast. We've become lax in our winter driving habits because we haven't had any significant snowfall since Early December. These next couple of weeks are going to be very much like winter weather we get here in the inland northwest. That means very cold temperatures, Snowfall and black ice. So for everyones sake lets start our day earlier and drive slower. Good luck and think Spring. |
